I started running in July of 2010 to counter the strain of a failing relationship, coupled with a general feeling of malaise and low self-esteem.
I didn’t know it then but the changes I was about to make started me on a journey of self-discovery, slowly rebuilding me into the person I’ve always wanted to become. Gone are the moments of self-doubt, self-loathing and undisciplined recklessness; replaced by self-actualization, self-love and a sense of duty to not only myself but all I come in contact with on a daily basis.
Let’s face it, waking up at 5 AM most mornings to get out for a run will change you in spite of yourself.
That’s not a guarantee, it’s almost an inevitability.
So there it is. This is my journey as a runner and as a human.
